The SHOUT - On Arrival

Another outstanding example of experimental yet accessible "classical" chamber choir music is "On Arrival" by The SHOUT (the British new-music group, not the late-80s U.S. rock band of the same name).
Performing music by composers Orlando Gough and Richard Chew, the singing is brilliant and the music even more directly influenced by minimalism.
The repetitive structures and tonal but rich, sometimes spikey harmonies are variously mesmerizing, dynamic, percolating and inviting. Choral music is often staid, third-rate and downright boring, but The SHOUT have given the genre a major shot in the arm.
