ATTICA is a new and promising band, with a strong identity and individuality. With their first CD "You are in danger" they put on record a set and a style which have drawn a strong responce from live audiences. Although they are a rock band in that they have the usual line-up and instruments, they have a wide-ranging style, distinctly their own.

There is a touch of jazz which pops up here, there, and everywhere, in the way they play, in the use of the double bass in some pieces, and more subtly in other ways. And when Amaury, the singer, lets the music go ahead on its own, he takes up his trumpet, like Chet Baker, and adds his own jazzy touch. But when he sings, you see that the vocals are central to the project, baked up by a palette of sounds and the band's personal range of musical atmospheres.

Their music is honed down, minimal, but with a harmonic center which enriches the flow of all their songs. The emotions and nuances move between the romantic and the soft, the angry and the heavy, the weird and the wonderful, pulling you into evocative or troubling soundscapes... and then, wham, the hooks and the melodies kick in, to remind you that this is a rock band, to dance to, to sing along with, to relate to.
