A fine chiselling between songs and instrumental pieces, ranging from classical to jazz, it swings and it's light. Constantly amazing, this music doesn't have a rhythm section. It's a repertoire without percussion that follows an airy and refreshing musical line, like a ballad in a botanical garden. Garrett gives room to the string insrtuments and to the wind instruments, and from time to time he sings or plays trombone. The fact that he takes a step back from being an instrumentalist - and remember that he is one of the best trombone players on the planet - commands our respect.
