A formula which to date has been exploited very little - a trio without a bass - might seem risky. However, we soon realise that the bass sound moves between the guitar, the sax and the drums. They have made a new breach in the walls of jazz and they rush through it with vigour and conviction. This is something new for the ears of the blasé and a blast of youth into old conventions.
